What's the main market for the Air France weekly cargo operation in Dublin does anyone know?

I'm right in saying it comes from Chicago and then continues to Paris, but there's no return working?

There's 3 threads on the front page discussing the bigger visitors to eidw, this one, the one started the other day and an older bumped thread, perhaps a mod could merge them into one?

Danbo - I started this thread as I am asking a specific question about the service - not the aircraft type etc. and I'd prefer if it didn't get lost in another thread.

Surely someone out there must know what the market for this service is? It's very unusual in that it is a one-way flow into Ireland from the USA and has been running for years.

Fair point, just the other two so :)

and i've no idea what it carries. You could email AF, but I did that before just asking when the 747 would be in DUB and they said they dont give that info out.

I guess Cargo is different to passengers in that it rarely needs to return to its starting point, unlike a passenger on holiday or business. But it does seem unusual that the flight is just once a week or so.

Possible that it operates on a one way track?
Hence why it only ever comes in from the US.

    As in a round-the-world-in-a-week trip?

    That's probably it.

    That's probably it.

The Dublin flight from ORD is the return leg of a Friday evening CDG-ORD service. It's not a round-the-world route.

Yeah so it does DUB->CDG->ORD->DUB on a track going clockwise.

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, but would anyone here know if this will be arriving and departing today, and roughtly what times?

Landed 1030 local, F-GIUA. Planned time of departure is 1205 local but as the inbound flight was running an hour or so late, I'd say it will be later than that.

Thank you Sir, do you know it's inbound and outbound flight numbers?

Thanks again, I've been tracking that and it says it has left on schedule, would it be accurate, at the airport now! Hoping to see it.

Can't help you on that. It is a US-based site so the information may be estimated rather than real-time. These tracking sites can be very useful but only show aircraft airborne (the Casper one is 15 minutes delayed unless you subscribe to the site). Both allow you to re-run activity for particular dates and times, which can be very informative.
