anyone bought from (insert site I'm connected to here) prices seem unreal, so just wondering if anyone has any experience and do they match up to what they say?

Never used them but the pricing seems about right - roughly the same as ebay listings for used prov's.

Ive bought from them, prices are very good alright. There may be very minor scuff marks on some of the balls but barely noticable. Some of the balls aswell had logos on them while most just looked as good as new. Would reccomend.

    ah ProV1s.

One of the things about golf that really throws me is the amount of mediocre golfers who have been sucked into believing that paying £3 for a golf ball is going to make a difference to their game. I'm not advocating playing with round stones, but for most golfers the difference between a ProV and a Top Flite XL is the same as the difference between 7 days and a week.

Relevance to this thread? Well, the gist of it is some people believe in paying more for 2nd hand ProV balls than they do for brand new Ultras. Keep living the dream lads.

Was playing with a guy lasy year in Connemara, he shuck a brand new ProV out of it's box on the first and promply shanked it over the road leading into the club....which is an achievement if you know Connemara, he played of 25 and lost 6 of them on the front....(it's actual quite hard to loss balls over the front nine in Connemara. I asked him why he used ProV's and he said he liked the feel around the greens.....

I get them off a guy in CArlow golf club, 50 for €60, you'd be crazy to pay any more.

Did that person in Donabate sell balls in bulk or was it a once off? I'm based out that direction and would be interested in picking up a couple dozen prov1x if possible.

    Yours in balls,
    GSH.

Pro V 1's make no distance whatsoever to mid to high handicaps.

There might be a placebo effect but they definitely aren't worth it.

I've developed a habbit of hanging on to them whenever I find them in case I lose them myself which is stupid really. I've quite a few at home if anyone wants to buy a few.

I buy 24 ProV1 Practice balls for £25 from this crowd in Derry LINKY. If i was losing more than one ball a round i wouldn't bother, but i can normally keep it on the short stuff as i'm not a long hitter. There's always a few holes i'll change to a cheaper ball if i think i'll be OB.

Correct me if im wrong but your link says 43.99 pounds (52euro) for 24 balls.
Thats fairly more expensive than the other sites mentioned.
Are they refinished balls by any chance?

C'mon guys... first post wonder starts the thread.. another first post wonder thinks that reverend moon is god... if they're so cheap as to try and drum up some interest on the "sly" then they likely will continue that level of ****e with the service they offer.

As has been posted earlier, buy a decent NEW ball... plenty of decent, good value balls out there... e.g. new Nike Power Distance @ £9 / doz. or Srixon AD333 @ £13 / doz. from onlinegolf.co.uk for example (£5 delivery or free when over £150)

Get a box of your favourite "soft" ball if you want... use them when the weather warms up and the ground gets firm.

And if your in the habit of losing balls, the "premium" balls will spin (read slice/hook) more and actually increase the likelihood of you losing the ball. So you're paying a premium for something that probably hurts your score.

Sorry my mistake 12, dont know why i said 24. It says on the site £22.99+pp for a dozen, but the shop is only 20 minutes from me, so i pick up a dozen every few months for £24.99 (or £23.50 last December when they had 10% off). They're new Practice balls, which i think just means they might have a small imperfection. Secondhand are probably cheaper elsewhere, but for new its a good deal and seen i pass the shop regularly, its very handy.
