Ive graduated with a biotechnology degree and a pharmaceutical science degree and a lot of the places Id like to work for like Pfizer, Hovione, Johnson&Johnson, Abott etc all use the same horrible software on their websites, that useless "Powered By Taleo" thing to gather details and advertise openings. Its basically unuseable, you upload your CV if you're lucky then never hear from them again, if they are looking for someone they seem to just use recruitment agencies anyway so its completely pointless.

Basically what I want to know is how do people go about approaching these companies in Ireland to ask about entry level or work experience positions? Sometimes you can see their HR people on Linkedin but it wont let you contact them.

My first piece of advice is are any of your course colleagues working in one of these places if so ask them to submit your cv.

Set up your linkedin profile just like you would a cv listing your achievements and again start adding people you know like those who did your courses and your lecturers. That way you will appear on the searches of people linked to them and who are appropriate to your field.

    Good luck.

Go to graduate events, most universities have them also there is one in the RDS each year. Also if you have the name of a person in HR you can ring the companys offices and ask to speak to them. A lot of people in HR are a bit useless so you really have to keep following up and they wont mind you calling them (its there job after all).
