Would anybody have any recommendations for a classroom projector? (if this is not the correct thread, please move)

I'm looking for a Short Throw (or Ultra-short Throw) projector for a classroom. I'm not sure what I should be looking for, or avoiding. I do, however, need this projector sooner rather than later.

Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

Also, what's the difference between an ordinary projector (e.g. for PowerPoint) and an 'interactive projector'? Does the latter require a different type of internet access (e.g. cable)?

Hello, I would recommend the SANYO 2501 projector for short throw €960 and the SANYO PDGDWL2500 for Ultra Short throw €1,265. When looking for a projector you should consider the following:

    · What warranty is offered? The standard warranty for classroom use is 3 year next day to site warranty.
    · Does the company you are purchasing from have a good after sales service and reputation
    · Is there a free extra bulb offered with the unit
    · If you are looking to purchase interactive whiteboards for that room at a later stage, SVGA projectors are not compatible.
    · In terms of the SANYO PDGDWL2500 - this unit is 3D compatible, so you are future proofing your schools equipment
    · What room are you putting the projector into. Is it primary or a specific classroom in a secondary school IE Science lab

In relation to the query on Interactive projector VS standard projector, you have a number of options. If you choose a standard projector you can purchase a wireless slate €199 or wireless keyboard and mouse set €35 to interact with your display from anywhere in the classroom. If you choose to go down the route of Interactive Projector I would recommend the SANYO 2503 - €1,150. You will have full interaction with the infrared pen. You can draw and annotate over existing documents, word, excel, powerpoint and the internet.

All the connections are the same with a short throw, ultra short throw and interactive projector.

If you require any further information please don't hesitate to contact me.

    Kind regards
