Munster Joinery Sales Reps

Munster Joinery are advertising sales reps jobs nationwide. No experience is required. I have 6 months sales experience (not in construction industry).

Anyone ever work for them?, would they be a good company to join?

Also there are two options online: sent in your own cv directly or fill out their application. Which would be the best option?

Any help or views would be great.

    Cheers.

Don't know anything specifically about Munster, but do have 2 friends working in window/door companies. With the down turn the sector has become savagely competitive and several other firms have gone to the wall. If you have a safe job, I think you would be mad to leave it.

I worked for them as a sale rep a long time ago in the last recession. They were very fair employers but had a weird commission system. The more discount you had to give to get the job, the less you got paid. They were always taking on new reps and splitting areas which meant the best builders were sewn up and the junior reps were only gettin the crumbs. That said, a car or van was supplied, expenses, phones etc were no prob and as long as you did your weeks work you were left to your own devices. When I was there we had to do a comprehensive training course and I didn't get my own area for months. It was great experience though as you were basically running your own business and it toughened me up. Money wise I couldn't really complain I didn't make a fortune, but for the times that were in it I was well paid. I'd certainly have a crack at it

    Hey yew_tree,

very good - got called for a second interview for next week. 14 weeks training first if I get the job. first three weeks down in their plant in cork. no guarantee a rep will get their local area (i.e connacht for me) but sure I will cross that bridge if i get the job.

Did you get called for one?

    Hi Yew Tree,

How did your second interview go?

My husband had a first interview this morning and it went exactly as you described so thanks for the heads up. It was great for him to have an idea what to expect!
