Tax Credits and Sick Leave

I am currently on sick leave from my job. As of this month, I am not getting paid by my employer and I am receiving Social Welfare Illness Benefit. Should I transfer my tax credits to my husband ie.mortgage relief etc. just until I return to work. I estimate that i will be on sick leave for at least another 3 - 6 months.
