I thought the problem was the "howling like a wolf" singing style that was the mistake, but then discovered it was the words, and I wouldn't have known this without being told.

It doesn't go anywhere near beating this old Conservative MP in the UK. John Redwood was made Secretary of State for Wales, but wasn't Welsh, didn't speak Welsh, and certainly didn't know the Welsh anthem. I don't know it either, but then again I'm not supposed to.:D

I know she's sang the anthem before, but not on such a huge scale. And even though she's a great singer, man, they're going to rip her apart with this. The magazines and tabloids will never let her forget this.

Shes being sining the anthem since she was 6 at events, I think it was just a case of nerves instead of not knowing the words.

There is rehearsal footage showing she nailed it....it was nerves, i'm a huge cynic....but in this case i say leave her alone!

People have gone WAY OTT about this, she's human.

Her performance at the grammys may as well have just been a screaming match. I think her style of singing has gone out of fashion in the last 5/6 years and unless she's willing to change things up she's not going to make any new fans.

Or possibly it was being drunk? Apparently she was helping herself quite a bit to the free champagne bar before hand. Who knows though, in America is you have a glass of wine with your dinner in the evening time you're a raving alcoholic.

She's a horrible singer in my opinion. She might be technically good, but all she does is scream and oversing every line. Louder is not necessarily better.

I think Beyonce is more listenable than Christina Aguilera. Beyonce has more going for her than just her voice - she has better songs and has more personality than Christina Aguilera, and pop music is as personality-driven as it is music driven. Christina Aguilera's style is already dated. The whole shouty-singer -and-not-much-else thing is not really around much any more. Beyonce is more talented in a lot of ways than Christina Aguilera ever was, in my opinion.

I'd like to see her make a good comeback too but I agree with the over singing and screaming. She has a fantastic voice and could use it to better effect imo

This is what I mean. She can definitely sing, but louder is not better. The way she uses her voice is extremely unpleasant to listen to, in my opinion.
