IGRF International Series 2011

The IGRF (International Gallery Rifle Federation) International Series has some changes introduced this year.

Firstly there is now a GRSB1500 (Smallbore 1500) match in the international series alongside the GRCF1500 (Centrefire 1500) Event that has been held for the last number of years.

Ireland won in the UK and Ireland last year and plan to defend their titles and grow on them this year.

Secondly South Africa have now joined the International Gallery Rifle Federation and are hosting their first event in 2011.

Therefore this year the International Series will be as follows:

May: UK Leg of IGRF Series - The Phoenix Meeting @ Bisley[/COL][/ROW]
July: Irish Leg of IGRF Series - FRC open @ Fermoy Rifle Club
Sept: South African Leg of IGRF Series (Details to be confirmed)
Nov: German leg of IGRF Series @ Leitmar

The Rules for Team and Team Captain selection were updated and published last year, however, should you not qualify for the official Irish Team for the International Series Matches themselves you may, of course, still travel and take part in these events on an individual basis.

Obviously the South African trip could prove to be fairly expensive so anyone planning to attend should co-ordinate with NASRPC as soon as possible in order to understand the costs, etc. The details for the match are yet to be confirmed so it is imperative to stay in contact should you wish to travel.

If you have any questions on any of these matches or how to take part please contact the NASRPCs Gallery Rifle National Discipline Co-ordinator at galleryrifle@nasrpc.ie

Just a short note to say good luck to everyone attending the Phoenix Meeting at the Bisley Ranges in Surrey, England this coming weekend.

As you will all be aware Ireland won the Phoenix Trophy for the first time last year in Centrefire Gallery Rifle 1500.
As you can imagine there will be stiff competition from the other countries but best of luck to the Irish Team in retaining the trophy.

There are also two major international matches with the UK legs of the IGRF (International Gallery Rifle Federation) Series in both Smallbore (GRSB) and Centrefire (GRCF) Gallery Rifle 1500 being competed for.

Last year saw Ireland miss out on the International Trophy in GRCF on just X's.

Of course individuals who are not on the Irish Teams also attend and last year saw a couple of Grand Master medals being won by members of the Irish contingent.

So, best of luck to everyone attending.

Just a short note to say good luck to everyone attending the
Fermoy 2011 Gallery Rifle European Open
    this coming weekend.

This event will include the Irish leg of the IGRF International Series where Ireland will have a number of teams competing.

At the recent UK leg @ Bisley the Irish teams took Silver in both the Smallbore and Centrefire 1500 Events and will be looking to continue and perhaps build on that success.

There will, of course, be many individual entries also.

    Best of luck to everyone.
