These Summer Camps run all over the country during the summer, does anybody know how you apply for one of the coaching jobs at them?

    Thanks

I would imagine you would have to have done some of the FAI coaching courses and be a registered coach with them.

What level coaching have you earned: Kickstart 1 or 2, Youths Cert?

If you have at lease a Kickstart 2 you should contact your regional FAI co-ordinator (you should have their details if you have done the badges) and they would more than likely be delighted to have you on board, money wouldn't be great, probably just cover expenses for the week.

I only have a Kick-Start 1, the times we were doing Kick-Start 2 in college I couldn't do it, would I still have a decent chance? I am also in 2nd year Sports Management and Coaching too

I worked on a camp 2 years ago. I had only done the Kickstart 1 course a few months previous. The pay was €250 for the week. Considering the first two days were a wash out it was good enough money. Hard work trying to keep 30 8 year olds entertained for 4-5 hours a day. I would imagine the number of camps has decreased a lot since I did, but best of luck with the application. It's a good experience.

Oh and because it was my first camp and I'd limited experience I was given 2 camps for definite and put on reserve for others. Turned out that I kinda got screwed on the second camp and was rung up 3 days before and told they had too many workers. Thankfully i could work out at a camp run by local team for that week but the pay for that was only €80. Pretty dismal in comparison, although I did spend the time doing Sudoku puzzles and joining in in matches :P

Just bringing this up again. All I can find links wise for jobs is a voluntary placement. Applied for this a couple of years ago and they paid you then, would anyone have a link on info for coaching jobs for the camps by any chance?

I'm pretty certain that for one of these jobs you will require garda vetting - working with kids and all that.
