Seem to be changing fav classes every prestige

    first up im starting to really love black ops , i hated it at the start even considering trading it for battlefield 2 . but from the start i was using the ak74u lightweight pro, slight of hand , marathon pro , secondary strella 3 . 1st prestige i was mainly using M16 , 2nd prestige i was using the stoner , now on my 3rd prestige i love the Gali , its just a sweet AR , red dot sight silencer , ghost pro , warlord pro and marathon pro , play CTF mainly now after playing a few games with the IRL clan ,
    i was just wondering to myself is everyone else the same , i know a lot of you guys have classes for various game types , i do too , but your main class that you use most of the time . do you change often .
    4th prestige i will mainly be using the FN Fal , really like that gun;)

    Famas is pretty much my go to gun. But yeah, i've been mixing things up alot. I really enjoy the m16 for early levels. But i suppose i've used to galil most in this prestege. I Dont really stick with any gun tho, love messing about with different guns.

    My perks are pretty much always the same tho.

    Flak jacket / SOH or Warlord (Warlord for snipers + LMGs) / Marathon.

    personally i found the famas to be very under powered , but in saying that ive never really gave it a good run out , always seemed to ditch it fairly early , i do only play hardcore so i use a silenced weapons almost all the time so it could be that also.

    I used to be mainly stoner reflex with ghost/SoH/ninja but last few prestige I'm running with 2 main classes that I'm loving, mp5k rapid fire, dual pythons, lightweight/SoH/marathon, tomahawk/flash/claymore and my more used one, M14 dot, Ghost/Soh/Ninja, frag/flash/ motion sensor and strella.
    Between the two of them I'm always having fun :P had great craic with the mp5k class tonight just bombing around the place and quick ADSing jumping round corners :P

    First I was using anything.. Really loved the 74u.. An the Commando Red Dot.

    Now I'm using the Famas with Dual mags, Hardline Pro, Sleight of Hand Pro, and Hacker. Seems to be the only one I like.. Gonna try out the Ak47 now that I unlocked it, but Hope to have the commando back soon cause I love that gun

    if you like the commando, you'll like the ak47.

    They're exactly the same gun......same recoil,damage,clip size. Pretty much identical except the commando has a faster reload.

    Can't say I agree with ya on that one..

    I can't get used to the AK47 tbh, dunno why - the recoil is very offputting - it jumps about 2 cms on the screen after every bullet.. yet I love the Commando - beast of a gun, don't see the recoil at all!? Only problem is it gets unlocked at level 44, so if you prestige...

    Famas, like the AUG, to me seems weak (although when I watch another person's killcam they only need 2 bullets to do the job) :confused:

    Use the ak74u mostly. Until I unlock the 74. Love the m60 with big bag, no need to reload, 200 rounds.
    Dont like the gali. Its a good gun but I just dont like the way it looks. Same with the stoner and the first light machine gun.

    Class setup would be lightweight/flak jacket/ghost - soh/warlord -marathon

    Stats say you are right, but if you go to around the 5 minute mark, you'll hear him say that he prefers the Commando at long distances owing to the kick from the AK47 causing him to lose out...

    Also, if you watch that vid of the Commando, I'm sure those that use the AK will agree, there isn't half the kick off the Commando?!

    he uses the commando because the iron sights on the ak47 at long range are no good (because of how the recoil behaves) What are you not understanding? It's the same gun bar reload time and iron sights other commentators have said the same thing.

    Hated the Famas in previous CoD games but it's my "go to" weapon in BlOps. I find it has great iron sights so I don't have to waste an attachment slot with a sight.

    Famas w/ silencer, Strela 3, Frag, Flashbang, Claymore, Hardline, Hardened, Hacker.

    Haven't bothered to unlock much else since prestiging.

    Having said that, I'm having alot of fun with a silenced spas12 on maps like Firing Range.... really have to be able to see the whites of their eyes though!

    At the moment I just can't leave AUG, Red Dot with extended mag alone. It's working great for me.

    I have to agree with everlast, I hate the AK47 with a passion, can't get to grips with the recoil at all, yet I love the Commando, and once I unlock it I rarely use anything else.

    they're basically identical

    Anyway, as you said...

    Then they're not the same :D Iron sights change how a gun handles. The commando imo is easier to use at long distances because of the iron sight. So really its the look of the gun, the iron sight, reload time and the gunsounds that are different... not really the same :D.

    Its not really the kick that makes the different everlast, like creasy said the recoil is the exact same. Both have the same kick, the difference is that the commandos Ironsight deals with the kick better. You'll often lose your target when shooting at range with the AK because the recoil will kick the gun model above the player, the raised iron sight on the commando helps with that.

    Ak47 Vs Commando
    Having used and liking both the commando and the ak47, I think the commando is better suited to more open maps where it is far more manageable at long range with it's better iron sights. Personally I think the ak is better up close hipfiring without steady aim but there is very little in them.
    The iron sights on the ak are pretty rubbish at long range as more often than not your shooting blind. You can still kill enemies but there is the chance your enemy went prone and you're firing well over their head. The commando doesn't have that problem and so makes it better for most players at long range.
    Ak47 is best paired with dual mags to decrease reload time or sleight of hand, whilst the commando can work with the silencer since it's got a better reload time. Sleight of hand pretty much negates any reload differences between them.

    Past and Current Classes



    Running man & Anti Air
    I also had a transition of prefered guns, hating the m16 and it's iron sights whilst loving the ak74 with LW/SA/Ma, but I changed styles of play and my favoured class to the silenced/reflex M16 with Gh/Wa/Ha. I then went on to unlock the ak47 with dualmags as a set class for Domination with FJ/SoH/TM.

    I then had a brief flirtation with the g11 but found it too limiting with it's choice of attachments. It's very good for hardcore where it is one hit/burst kill (and no radar) but overall I felt that no silencer impeded me too much for the majority of game types, and it wasn't likely to perform well in all maps.

    Gunner
    The m60 with extended mags/grip was purely used for nuketown and for me to deafen players. The reduced movement for LMG's was again too detrimental to my styles of play. I'd see teammates in places picking up kills that normally I'd get. The lower mobility forces you into being more cautious as you could often end up having enemies spawning near you.
    I did however revisit the LMGs and found the stoner with extended mags to be excellent, I'd run Sc/SoH/Ma to make sure I'd have plenty of ammo, and be more mobile to compensate for choosing a LMG. A possible benefit of the class is since you'd be slower moving you're less likely to trip a claymore.
    Gunner take two
    The large clip size of the galil then took my fancy and I tried it out but in my silenced m16 set up but I found it less useful as the large clip was often redundant if I got killed by a SMG user. It didn't have the range of the m16 probably due to the burst fire being more accurate and controlable. Whilst the greater amount of bullets needed often gave the target a chance to shoot back. I recently subbed the m16 for the ak47 with silencer and dual mags and haven't regretted the change.

    Run and Gunner
    The next class I moved on to was a variation of my stoner class with a silenced commado, Sc/SoH/Ma or Hp depending on map choice. My usual style of play is based on speed so I'd often choose Marathon for big maps and Hacker for campy ones. SoH was choosen over Warlord pro and dual mags since it gave a consistent reload time and it was also beneficial should I pick up another gun.

    Sniper
    I ignored most of the sniper rifles as the first two were pants, (I think they were "upped" since I last used them) but I like the last two. Unfortunately the L96/PSG class is gathering dust, I mostly use it as it has Hardline Pro and can call in plenty of Spy/counterspy planes. I'd use it on occasion for defending B dom in havanna or at the start of firing range near C dom.

    D**khead Class
    Finally my newest class is an anti camper one, silenced aug with dual mags (I don't know if I like the famas yet) with LW/Wa/Ma and a jammer. The jammer is the key here. Most snipers/campers don't/won't check their radar unless their claymore goes off but with the jammer all their claymores/equipment are negated, very rarely do people sit facing their claymore. I can then run in and kill them. The silenced aug is fairly rubbish at long range, though so I have a speed reloader python just in case I need to knobble someone.

    Coraven told me I should use hacker but most of the best claymore positions are well known to me by know (many claymores have killed me stairs and doorways) and I'm still trying to get Marathon Pro. Maybe when I get it I'll change but for now it works for me. It's also a great nuisance, I leave the jammer next to the house on Villa overlooking B dom and either the enemies put up with their malfunctioning motion sensors/claymores or their come out to try and destroy it. The same holds true for the barn over B Dom in firing range.

    It's amazing to see how many people go out of their way to get it. So many players are reliant on their equipment and can't cope without it. If enemies are looking for it I can lure them to me or an ally, draw them away from me or leave it in some obscure place with no teammate nearby on a wild goose chase for some idiot with Hacker or an even bigger idiot who wants his radar back.
