Would a piece of venison not work?
    Squeeze out the blood?

Hi all, I may be wrong but I thought the blood needed to be fairly fresh to train a dog, ie frozen or used within a few hours?

    hi mauser 308,
yeah you need to collect the blood as soon as the deer is shot! put a table spoon of salt in a bottle with the blood to stop coagulation! then you can put the blood into ice cube bags and freeze them! take a cube out when ever you want to use the blood and it will be fresh as a daisy for trailing!
