ICS Sig Mid Caps

    Hey folks,

I've got me an ICS 551 and some MAG brand mid caps...they don't fit, annoyingly. I have tried a number of things, filing of parts, trying to make them work...but I just can't seem to get the right part.

I have the magazine fitting in the receiver, but it is not feeding, at all. It is like the hop unit is not releasing the BBs into the chamber. Any suggestions on how to remedy the problem? I was thinking something along the lines of extending the hop tube so that it definitely presses on the magazine stopper.

Anyone in possession of both ICS 551/2 and MAG mids that have gotten them to work?

+1 on this - the lack of mid caps is the only thing that's stopped me getting one of these!

i beleive your only suppost to file the underside of the lip that catches the mag well /mag release just below the mag fill hatch, only taking down a few mm using a hand file ,if that dosent work switch to a TM G3 hop unit very similar to the 551 unit only with longer feed tube , search arnies for more info, if all else fails order a box of ICS 551 5O rnd mags

Right, there are 3 parts that need filing for a smooth fit.

Firstly, the top of the mag (where the BBs are held in) pushes the gearbox up, so filing this is optional, but advised. Secondly you file a small amount off the back of the mag where it is held in place via the mag catch. Lastly you file a more defined slant on the part that holds the BBs in, as this allows the hop to engage the magazine properly allowing the BBs to feed.

It does not look pretty, but it works :)
