04 Ford Mondeo radio problems

Just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else. I have an 04 Ford Mondeo, 1.8 petrol. I didn't use the car for about a month last summer and had to jump start it after that period. Started fine after that so the battery is still good.

The problem is that since then the radio keeps flicking from the selected station to the local station that has a stronger signal. This happens no matter what station is selected. This is as you can imagine quite annoying as the local station is for a younger audience.

Just wondering is the radio knackered or can it be reset or something?

Your radio reset when it lost power I think.

Look at the display, there's probably a little 'AF' on the screen.

Hold down the AF button on the radio to switch it off.

It's Auto Frequency or something like that and causes the radio to switch to a stronger signal but it's just really annoying!

@ jimbob86 -- nothing more annoying, childrens radio is not as bad as listening to George Hook....torture

@ keith186 --- Many thanks for this suggestion, I will try it this evening and let you know if it works.
