Ya I was there. I found it very interesting
The vet was very good and explained about TB and what to look for and where. Also showed liver fluke and answered questions about limes disease and so on.
David Dunne showed his technique on skinning deer and chilling and breaking down the carcass.
Then a lad did a demonstration on how to cut the skin off for a taxidermist.
And there was tea coffee and a BBQ venison burger.

yup, learned a lot especially on skinning and caring for the meat, obvious things you'd never think of

it was in an empty part of an old mill, rough and ready. they had scaffold up to hang the deer and trusses with planks on them covered in cardboard to sit on.
they had a stainless steel bench for the vet to show the hart lungs etc on.
no completion cert, it was an education exercise and i would advise any one to go and attend as you will pick up hints and tips. and if you have any questions there is a vet there to answer them.

they are trying to get a place to hold one up the country a bit if any one can help them out. they only need an large open area preferably with a roof over it ;)

anyone can attend. i am a member but it is open to everyone that has the interest in attending .

i joined because i wanted to be in the loop and kept informed about events like this. its our sport and we need to be proactive or other people will be deciding what happens to our resources.

    Well said.
    Must have missed you or?
I enjoyed it yesterday, very good practical advice from the Vet and butcher. Was possibly better to have only a few deer to examine (compared to previous years) as everything went slower and easier to follow. Pity I had to leave early.

Had a good chat with Kramer,
we took a few bits along but left them in the car as I was on standby for the BBQ. Started by sampling the steaks.:D
