    Hi,

As well as Navan Man and the Drunken Politician and Father Wishy Washy there was another character based on Christy Brown.

I'm not sure about the spelling but I believe it was Chrissy Brun (?!?) and his foot.

I wonder doesn anyone know where I could get some of the recordings. There was one in particular where foot was being all intellectual and Chrissy said he was going to cut foot off. Then there was the track "Stuck In The Middle With You" playing as Chrissy used a chainsaw.

    Thanks.

    :D

I saw a play written by Stuart Carolan (Navan Man) in the Abbey years ago. Aside from one witty line about Thomas Moore having "taken the soup" back in the sixteenth century, it was absolutely awful. Expletive after expletive with zero creativity, colour or art in their use. It was a travesty of language.

Navan man, on the other hand, was great.

The Navan Man was very funny. I wonder is Stuart Carolan THE Stuart Carolan (that is Love/Hate Stuart Carolan)?

so Stuart Carolan, who did work for Dunphy when he was at Today FM and later for his TV show, writes love hate which was commissioned by Dunphys wife, RTÉ Drama Commissioning Editor, Jane Gogan.
    Thats a mad co-incidence!

but some jump too from writing classic political satire to a ganland crime series with record drama ratings.

I think he also wrote Love is the Bug (I think was the name) a drama set in Drogheda if memory serves me correct. Was on RTE about 7 or 8 years ago. It was where Ruth Negga started out.

Yeah it was Love is the Drug - not a bad show at all. Seem to recall Ruth Bradley, who was in Love/Hate, was in this too
