You could do a course - and the Beauty Therapy at wcfe is well regarded, but no-one can guarantee you a job in a salon.

WCFE is a great course for full time not sure about part time courses. Only thing is theres not much jobs for beauty therapists in Waterford, esp if you have no experience, so be prepared to travel to get a job unless your very very lucky. :-)

My friend and half her class have been looking for ages and the only work they can get with no exp is with an on call agency in town having to travel for treatments one or twice a week for something like €10 an hour (they might get max 7-8 hours a week I mean MAX) bear in mind you do a half hour back massage and get a fiver......enuf said.

Hi guys i was wondering if anybody could help. I did a course with FAS more than 2 years ago in beauty therapy. I worked for 6 months after my course but was let go when the girl returned from maternity leave. While i was working there i felt really nervous and un sure of my skills so bad that i would blush :o. After this i was offered a job that had nothing to do with beauty. i took the job as there had to come by these days...I worked there for almost a year when it closed down. I am now thinking of going back to do beauty therapy full time at W.C.F.E its a 2 year course. I felt so un prepared and not ready after FAS.i feel i need to re-train and get a better qualification. I recently had a job interview to intern for a spa but i didnt get it. I only have an ITEC Beauty specialist certificate. What should i do? I am un employed at the moement but have always wanted to work in a spa or salon. any advice would be sooooo helpfull i am soo confused at how to get back into beauty
