Did anyone else watch this? Kenny gave a great interview and admitted he's been attending AA meetings for the last 6 months. Very frank and honest and a really nice guy. I always liked him but he's gone up in my estimation now. He's the first guest on here-

Why has he gone up in your estimation? Admitting to being an alcoholic?

I always thought Kenny was a nice sound guy, and still do.

Thought the interview was a little odd. The fame really
went to Kenny's head after Beijing. That was the problem, plus, everyone
telling him that he was robbed of gold:rolleyes:

What a competitor though. Still hungry for the Irish belt. Hope he does it for number 11...

the move to the us should do him immense good boxing wise, the training and the opponents that he has are unreal, hopefully in london he will be rewarded, one question, he is boxing in the nationals and olympics as an amatur, yet in the us he is a paid fighter, can both be mixed.

In fairness that sudden fame would go to most lads heads.
After all them years of trainiing like fook and all of a sudden in the space of a few weeks most of the country know who u are.
I agree about the being told about gettin robbed (even if he was)

thats the end for Egan ,...... nice guy but you dont get hooked on booze over a few months .

He's had his moment I believe , very few come back from the drink .
although Booth they were saying , had severe alcohol problems and came back .

    Hope he overcomes it though

I don't see Kenny as any kinda' threat anymore on the world scene.
He is clearly past his best days, and come 2012 does anyone expect
him to be a medal threat?

Great fighter for Ireland. But, I think his journey is almost over...

No. For getting his life back on track.

Fair play to him going on TV and been so frank and upfront about things. I genuinely felt for him when he mentioned he would be in the sweats and nightmares and it sounded as if he ended up in a little bit of a vicious circle.

I hope he gets a shot at 2012, as it will be something I think he will appreciate even more now.
