Right heres the deal Im in my 2nd year of a 3 year course and to be honest I am just not happy there for a number of reasons. 1st is the people in the class I get on with most of them but I wouldnt really be close to anyone and I also wouldnt bother with alot of them I tried to make time for them before but they wheren't interested so whats the point.2nd thing I dont like is the course work now I know nothing in this world comes easy but to be honest Im just not good at it even with hours upon hours of study I still can barely understand it I never done science for leaving cert and even with hours upon hours of study Im getting **** grades failed all my exams at Christmas bar one.

More then likely I will end up repeating this year and to be 100% honest my heart just isnt in it anymore its a good degree but I feel that I will be walking into a career that I will hate

The option Im looking at now is leaving my ego at the door go do a plc for a year and then go do a business degree which is what Im good at and I want to run my own business after college anyway

Then go for it. Sounds like you'll make the effort if you change.

I dropped out of the second year of my science degree and I'm now nearly finished a degree in the something I love. Well worth the hassle.

    All the best.

Honestly I think I'm in a very similar situation. I'm in 2nd year, doing a science degree in UCD. Hate it.Failed half of my Christmas exams. I want to drop out and do something like Business/Law (I'd probably have a hell of a lot more aptitude for that. Probably will leave in the next week to repeat my LC and reapply to the CAO.

I dropped out of college and thats not a problem, theres no point continuing if you hate it at this stage, youll despise it by the time it comes to working in the field. The thing is to make a good decision about what you do want to do next. Only go for something else once you are sure its the correct thing for you. (which it sounds like youve already thought through).
