Hi Lads, I recently brought me jg bar-10 skirmishind in sligo and i had it chronoed and it was shooting at around 315 to 320 fps but in the corner it said the power in joules and it was 1.2. I thaught that 1J = 328fps. Hope you can help. Thanks

Some Chrono's can be set up to calculate different weights
maybe it was set up for 0.25 and not 0.20

ie 0.25 BB at 320fps would work out at 1.15j
    but a 0.20 BB at 320fps would be 0.92j

would this be still classed as illegal then
0.25 BB at 320fps would work out at 1.15j
as its over 1 joule ?

If the Chrono readings are correct then yep tis over the limit.

With that said I had 3 of my guns go over the limit
when I went to a site before. When I specifically had
tested them myself before I arrived at the site and they were well under the limit,
and when I got home and tested them again they were fine too.

I'd get the gun Chrono'd again on a different Chrono
just to re-check it, and best ask about to get a downgrade as you may turn upto a skirmish site and they wont allow you to play.
(If you bought it new from an Irish Retailer I'm sure they would be more than happy to fix the issue for free)

As Bullets said, 1 joule is NOT 328 fps. The magical number of 328fps is specifically related to 0.20g BBs. Heavier BBs require more power (i.e. joules) to get up to 328fps.

dont forget theres air pressure and temperature involved colder temps mean higher fps as the air is denser i dont know the scientific mumbo jumbo behind it either but iv noticed it with my aegs being chronod in different temps:confused:
