As another day draws to a close,
I miss you even more,
My tears fall gently from my eyes,
And onto your picture they pour,

Onto the picture, next to my heart,
Taken on the very same day,
When our sweet Lord Jesus,
Decided to take you away,

And that one last time you called out to me,
"Daddy", I heard you say,
But I , could not but look on,
As your life, it slipped away.

Why I didn't rush to save you, Son,
I really couldn't say,
For I, who never learned to swim,
Was so sorry on that summers day
