    Sup lads.

Recently I have taken an interest in Game Development and what better place to start than Xbox? :P

Just wondering if anyone has one for sale round here? I'll travel if needed.

    Thanks,
    Cian

I'd recommend starting with XNA and getting a Creators Club licence so you can play your creations on both the PC and 360. The chances of getting a Dev Kit and licence are pretty slim. :)

not a chance of you getting an xbox sdk, none at all, ever

you can apply here, xboxudev@microsoft.com, but they'll laugh at you unless youve got multimillion euro financial backing and a proven track record

xna is the only remotely realistic option

Wouldn't a jtag allow you to run your own unsigned code it seems to be the cheapest option

The point is OP you don't need to start developing on the 360, even if you could via whatever means. Start with either C#/XNA or C++/DirectX and build up your knowledge from there. Then add in some basic physics and AI knowledge. Then grab one of the available engines out there such as Unity, UDK or if you're a confident programmer grab Ogre and put your own engine together with the other necessary modules.
