Combining Analog and DTT

Does anyone know of a way of feeding analog and digital signal into single RF socket on a TV so both tuners can have a feed. I have UPC DVR which has a analog feed out of it which I feed upstairs to a Philips 32LED . It works very well when a attic aerial is put in for all DTT local stations but when you combine it with UPC analog lead on a splitter it stops working on digital. UPC say it wont work because of a conflict of signals
    Any suggestions welcome

Din't you ask on another thread?

They are correct. The UPC digital and Modem BB signals are on the cable even if you not using them.

The only solutions are change over switch or a VHF/UHF duplexer.

The Analogue channels on UPC are rubbbish quality and they will drop them to have more space for Digital and Modems. That's why Digital package is cheaper now than Analogue.

Thanks, yes I know how bad the quality is but I have a RF feed from the back of my UPC DVR downstairs to upstairs bedrooms via a amp splitter which covers the 17 analog programme and any recorded digital programmes and lets them be seen on bedrooms TVs . To do it on digital I would have to have a STB in each room at a high rental cost. For this reason I have not upgraded to UPC HD as their box does not have a RF output and only has a HDMI socket I am told. I have a Humax Foxsat HD DVR downstairs and a Fortec Star STB in the main bedroom but this leaves out the 5 Irish digital stations for me and I am still recording RTE on a analog HDD/DVD Yamada in the bedroom. This is the one I hope to replace with a DTT DVR.

You know you don't need the rf out to use the analogue channels. They are on the cable anyway. My cable was split to upstairs for broadband router and downstairs for tv. Upstairs also has the analogue channels.

I wonder if it's the broadband and digital that are causing the conflict, is there a way to filter these out before you combine with the DTT? Don't know enough about it though.

VHF/UHF diplexer/Splitter to only let the VHF part of cable through.
