I have a little advent netbook which I use for extended periods while travelling.
However, the power supply cable(part that goes into the black box) has become loose and as a result causes the netbook to shut down as there's no charge going to it.

Where can I get a replacement power supply for this?

    Thanks

Same thing happened to me a while back, same netbook brand- Advent 4211c, and universal chargers for netbooks are about €60 - €90. So I used a universal charger I had from a toshiba laptop a couple of years back, as luck would have it, the toshiba tip fitted the netbook but the power supply was way too bulky!

So I happened to be out in PC World recently when I spotted a Kensington netbook charger at the bargain price of €30! It was marked down simply because the packaging was damaged! One assistant was none too helpful telling me it wouldnt work with my netbook. I happened to have my netbook with me at the time so I bought the charger, and then asked another assistant could I try it out. No problem she said, as she brought me over behind the desk, and helped me set up. It worked perfectly, AND, it also works perfectly with my HP laptop and wife's sony VAIO laptop.

It's only an inch in width, so it fits even flatter in my netbook bag than the original charger. So really, any universal charger will work, it's just a matter of the physical dimensions after that... :)

The output voltage and amps must match also, so its a bit more than what you say

fair point, i should have said that too, but universal chargers anyway wil come with a variable voltage setting, and an assortment of various tips for the different manufacturers.

one of the beauties of the particular charger i bought is that it's simply a matter of flicking a switch and changing the tip for the various laptops. the tips are also color coded for their varying voltages, so say for the netbook here, use a green tip, and switch the voltage to green. my wife's sony laptop uses a blue tip, so change the voltage to blue.

far easier than the universal charger i had before with the manual voltage selection dial! :o
