How would I go about becoming an second level engineering teacher? Would I need an engineering degree first or is there a specific course aimed at teaching it? Thanks

Here's a course aimed directly at teaching Engineering. Last year's minimum points were 430.

Be aware the cuts over the years and some difficulties getting teachers in the subject made some schools scrap their Technology/Engineering room and turn it into a library, but it's a field there are still jobs in, both at a reasonable level of part-time hours and the level of the elusive full-time post.

Thanks very much. Its something I've always thought about. Am thinking of putting it on my CAO during change of mind as a "what if" course. Had trouble finding a particular course though. Thanks again.
