Mastercard in Asia

    Am heading to asia next month and plan on using my mastercard which will be loaded with money from my current account via online banking(small amounts and then withdrawn).

    Its a BOI mastercard so would like to know what countries in asia I'll have trouble withdrawing money from using my credit card?

    BOI informed me that I'll only pay 1.75% of the withdrawal fee if I use the mastercard that has money in credit. Pretty good?

    Well Mastercard is commonly accepted in every SE Asian country I've been to ...more so than Visa even.

    The only thing you should know is that any transactions made while your card is in credit is not insured so...

    I did exactly the same while traveling in SE Asia, had no problems withdrawing cash. Africa was the only place that Mastercard was useless, just as well my friend had Visa!
