I was thinking of picking up a couple of these, would anyone know if they're any use?

I am thinking of either getting one of these or picking up another battery and an external charger, to be able to carry around a spare battery and just replace it if I run out.

Both are quite inexpensive on ebay, would love to hear some advice!

I used to carry around spare ones. But it got to a point where i got pissed of always fiddling around the cover to replace it. So this time i got an extended one on ebay. Though i havent got the time to test the extended battery life under normal use yet. Ive been playing to many games in the past few days :D

For extra flexibility, you might be interested in an external Duracell USB charger. It's an absolute steal at €3.95 (if it seems suitable, the "2 in 1" is the one you want, far higher batter life from it - 2000mAh vs. 500mAh - than for the 'pocket' one ), which is still available in some Tesco stores (I know they have some in my local Castlebar Tesco, drop me a PM if needed ;)).

I've got 2 sitting in the laptop case whenever I'm out and about. Unbelievably handy little things. Can't say I would have paid the €65ish original price or even the €47ish via the Duracell site atm, but at <€4 it's an amazing little tool. Works directly with the USB charging cable that comes with the desire, or with a huge number of USB chargeable devices if you have the right cable/adaptor.

(Some Tesco stores seem to have figured there's a mistake on the product pricing [all of the range, which normally varies greatly in price, scan at the same price and same product description in my local store - so looks like an error] and changed it to a higher price, so be sure to check the price on one of the scanners prior to purchase.)
