    Hi there folks

A friend is lookin to setup a mobile shop, in a van converted with a counter. He is going to sell coal, firewood, all that lark

If he parks up somewhere in town in a legal parking bay, I assume he still needs some form of trading license ?

What do you think, is he free to operate from anywhere he parks legally ?

He would need a trading licence if he is parked up and selling. He could pay for a slot at a market or go door to door with his products. Going door to door is slow at the start but once you put time into it the business can become very successful.

he would have to apply to his local county council for a trading licence.
some county councils give them out easier than others. i know fingal are not giving out any more.
he may have to try to get a spot in a shopping centre carpark or somewhere like that because there are not many legal parking spaces in places where you would get a good trade.
Also if he is on private land like this he won't need a licience.
