    Hi

I'm currently a mature student in first year and receiving BTEA. I was wondering if it is possible to retain the BTEA if I change course to another college. If this wasn't possible would I be able to get the grant as I only received the fees part this year.

Think I may have shot myself in the foot by not choosing my course wisely.

i was able to change courses but i stayed in the same university.

i think it will be Ok... just contact them and let them know.

just saw you have received a better offer and the other course is much more suitable for you etc..just say you are unhappy in your current course and you wish to TRANSFER

as long as youve been approved for it, its unlikely they would take it off you.

as i remember all i just had to fill in a new form.. and it was approved

    good luck

You should talk social welfare immediately and get it in writing. If you repeat a year - BTEA/grant or not, you have to pay repeat fees. If you drop out half way through the year you have to pay for the half you already did. You may have missed this date. If not you need to check that if you do drop out, you meet the BTEA criteria for how long you have been out of full time educ. or you may not qualify for BTEA for the rest of your degree. If you don't get BTEA next year, you won't get a grant for the first half of the year either as you have already done this half. Also I doubt you can go from a grant in one year to BTEA in subsequent years. You may be best to see the year out if you have missed the halfway date:confused:
