Does anyone else feel that all political parties have the same nonsense policies and loyalties, and that independents are too inexperienced/crazy?

I propose that an Atari Jaguar option at the polls would be the best way to show our contempt for the current bunch!:D

    Who is with me?

Maybe we could get a few Germans to run for election. They seem to have their siht together.
But ya, the parties all seem too similar and the independants seem like they either don't have the experience or that they'll be dependant on the same kind of politics the Healy Raes depend on the get re-elected, by which I mean pot hole fixing.

Yes, nail on the head pretty much.

So we should all spoil our votes or don't vote out of protest? Then the cretins that voted in the last bunch will do the same again. No thanks.

Well, that part was fairly in jest, Its pretty obvious that the last bunch won't be doing the same again, the new bunch probably will!

Has anyone ever tried changing their name by deed poll to "None of the Above" and subsequently standing for election ?

I remember a few guys stood for election a few years back on a legalise cannabis ticket. The registrar refused to let them stand as anything other than "Independents" and when they tried to set up a "Cannabis legalisation party" the registrar refused this without giving any grounds as to why such a refusal was legal. One of them considered getting around this obstructionism by changing his name to "Cannabis legalisation" but decided against it because of the anticipated difficulties everytime he might be going through customs

Sorry to disappoint those who thought that an Atari Jaguar was running, I will post as soon as I hear news of one nominated for election, although I can't guarantee I agree with its policies either

Hmm, that also rings true for "None of the following"

I think that "They're all a bunch of cnuts" could score a landslide victory...
