Graphics and FPSconfusion

My clan was playing BlackOps, so I decided to have a game, I had stopped due to FPS and all the issues, I could never get an decent average FPS

So today I made a spreadsheet, and tried all different settings in conjunction and marked down the FPS, on the same map on my own private game...running the same direction etc so I could have a good comparison

So...first test was

1200x800 /Anti Aliasing ON / Antisotrop ON / Texture HIGH / Steam Community OFF / Process Priority NORMAL etc etc and I'd mark down the result...this time it was average about 40fps....with 70 being the highest.:(

So this went on and on , and not much changed, so I decided to try the lowest settings possible

1024x768 / AA OFF/ AS OFF/ Texture LOW / Steam Community OFF/ Process Priority HIGH....and the result....the same...30-45 average...and peaking at 70 :mad:

so...for giggles. I tried everything on High

1680x1050 / AA x 8 / AS ON / Texture Highest / All settings UP except Shadows / Steam Com OFF / Process HIGH ....and the result...45-70 average...peaking at 120 !!!! :eek:

So what is going on there ? seriously ? I can't make any sense of that, the higher the settings, the more FPS i get ? This tends to go against everything I know and every other game I've ever played on PC

Errr you got a pc that performs better the higher the settings?

Buy 10 monitorz and see it run at 1000 fps

It is the same case for my clanmate, who has the best setup I've ever seen, easily beats that of the custom builders on here I'd think.

And I already own it on xbox too
