Rang for quotes for percolation tests this morning. seems to be a huge variations.
One guy is charging 550 + vat. Another guy will do it for 300 cash.
Does that sound way to good to be true?
    both came recommended by architect.
    What have others paid?
    thanks

Around €400 would be the going rate in Donegal.

a huge influence is distance the assessor has to travel.

our standard charge would be around €500

Laois county council have a standard fee of €550

It involves at least two visits to the site, so if the assessor is just planning one visit then they are not doing the test correctly.

It involves a bit of DESK STUDY work off site BEFORE and AFTER testing on site too.

ps, deleted duplicate thread in C+P

Where do you find a list of site assessors?

We need to do a percolation test in the next couple of weeks as well - and have the lend of a digger to do the main hole and plan to dig T1-T3.

Any recommendations (by PM if necessary)? We are in North Dublin.

I'm looking for a site assessor myself at the moment.
Got 3 quotes ranging from €1000 + vat, to €450 cash.

The site assesors list can be got in any of the planning departments and should be on their web sites.

I've found a fairly common price is €500 + VAT.

The person doing the test will have to submit the results to the LA as well as give the client the results and recommendations, their professional indemnity insurance is part of the overall package.

Speaking in terms of cash means nothing as the process is very transparent and traceable and the assesors name is all over the documentation and this becomes part of a public planning file for all to view world wide.

Anyone saying they can do one as a cash job really has no idea what they are doing.
