How Reliable are Provisional Results?

Can you rely on provisional results to be very accurate or should you expect the final, official results to be different at all? I don't want to get my hopes up about my results because I am mildly paranoid that a couple of my good marks will be changed between now and the 24th September due to some marking errors or something. Why are they called 'Provisional'?

In third year now and only one grade has ever changed, and went up from an B- to an A- because there were 2 lecturers each teaching one half of the class and I think one marked way easier than the other in the presentation so they revised the grades.

I got an NG for an exam I sat, do I contact programme office?

Like I felt it was quite straightforward and as I am dyslexic I type my papers and have a separate exam centre, I assumed they lost it.

I'd contact your school directly. There are also appeals procedures that UCD have if you felt you needed them.
