Silent profile no longer silent?

Hi all, I used to be able to switch to Silent Mode/Profile on my Nokia 2630, but it's just stopped working and rings out loud no matter what mode/profile I set it to. The LCD says silent, but it lies! Anything I can do or is it time for a new phone, it's just two years old. Thanks, 39steps
