I'm an Irish person studying in Scotland. Like the 12 other irish students in my class, I won't be able to fly home to vote on the 25th of Feb. I've looked into postal voting but I don't think i'm eligible. Someone mentioned to me today that there is a way of voting online. Is this true?

If anyone mentioned that then it was probably someone watching Sky who doesn't realise that Ireland is a separate country.

I know of no such system or option in this country.

It was an Irish person who mentioned it actually. Is there anyother way of voting from abroad?

www.citizensinformation.ie can answer a lot of questions

Credit due to the people who maintain it and the staff in the advice centers around the country.

    http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/government_in_ireland/elections_and_referenda/voting/registering_to_vote.html#ld1a9a

OP, read the link and call your council wherever home in Ireland is for you and ask can you be added.

I don't know for certain, I realy doubt you will be allowed a postal vote

No, there is no online system in Ireland

If you can get enough people talking about it I'm sure FG will add it to their list of promises.

As opposed to FF who, after nearly 15 years of power haven't brought in any kind of reform. The postal vote option is a joke. the entire point is to disenfranchise the people who have left because, are they likely to vote for FF? I think not.
