ACTING legend Margaret John was last night described as “the grandmother everyone wanted” as tributes poured in after her death following a short illness.
The star, who played Doris in Barry-set Gavin & Stacey, died in her sleep at 2am yesterday as she was being treated in hospital in Swansea. She was 84.
Fellow Gavin & Stacey actor Rob Brydon – who played Bryn in the hit comedy – said: “What a wonderful person she was, everyone on G and S adored her.”
