Problem with Chainsaw

    Hi,

My father bought a chainsaw of a guy going around selling them in the back of a van, The chainsaw seems to have problems starting at times.

At times it doesnt seen to be able to get the fuel to the carburetor, However its new and there is no issue with the filter from what i can see.

Sometimes if you emptied out the fuel and re-add it it will start and stay running, Leave it for a day and it takes ages for it to start.

When i remove the plug its dry.

It seems that its not pulling the fuel up to the carburetor at times, Ive adjusted the carburetor, But doesnt seem to make a difference. Also the fuel filter looks to be in good condition

Would anyone have any advice, Is it an issue with the carburetor,

Below is a picture of it.

Post this up on the farming and forestery forum. Going by the picture its a cheap copy of a Stihl saw made in China, there are plenty of them about.

These saws dont have a CE mark on them, if they do it's effectively a fake. So if someone uses them working for you and they get injured - big trouble. They could take the house off you.;)

Looks like a Chinese copy like some one else said there are a lot of them around parts will be virtually imposable to get and it will probably be viticulture to get any one to repair it how much did it cost anyway ? A guy near me gave €100 for one the same seized solid after 10 minutes work had to chalk that one up to experience.

Bought a saw last year and the one common theme from talking to the dealers is that they reckon those saws are the best thing to ever happen their trade. Initially they thought they would kill off the business but instead, lads are buying these cheap saws, realising how useful a saw is to have around and then buying proper ones.
