    ...or would have. :D

I just realised that it was this day a year ago that the 6th season started. We were all waiting eagerly for the 2-hour premiere around this time. So had the show not ended, we all would have been discussing the 7th season premiere right now. While I am glad that the show ended and didn't go on forever, I do miss the great discussions we had here. It makes me sad to see this forum so quiet. :(

So if the the show hadn't ended, what would we all be talking about right now? The writers always joked about season 7 being the zombie season. What other crazy sh*t could have happened on the island in a hypothetical 7th season, huh? What insanely mad twist would the premiere have ended on?

    :(
We have to go back :)

Did the guys who were looking at making a fully chronological version of the show on lostpedia ever finish it ?

I'm glad they ended it but I really miss it. The buzz coming up to season premieres and finales was brilliant, as well as the wait between episodes. Used to love reading through all the forums and websites after something really crazy happened.

God knows where they could have taken the show if they did a 7th season, literally anywhere as almost anything was possible on that show.

Will we ever get a show like it again? I'd nearly hope that they could re-invent the show again somehow. I just hope some sort of show comes along that can be as engaging on so many levels and as unpredictable as Lost was.

I'm not sure, but I always thought it was a terrible idea. You can't really take the flashbacks out of the context of the episodes they were in.

Yeah. Regardless about how people feel about the ending, the show provoked some great discussion. In a way I think that was my favourite part of it and the thing I miss the most.

So do I. But tbh I get the feeling the networks aren't interested in doing another Lost. They all had a go at doing their own take on it with extremely mixed results.

The networks weren't even interested in doing the original Lost, let alone another one! The creators had to sneak Lost in through the back door by effectively pretending it was something else until they had enough of a following to allow them to let it be what it was without being cancelled.

I think more than anything it's the serialisation and complex mythology that puts networks off doing another Lost. I mean it was cult show that also enjoyed enormous mainstream appeal. It's almost a contradiction in terms. The only other show like it was Twin Peaks and that was 20 years ago. Most of the shows that imitated Lost were either stillborn or self-destructed by the end of their first season.

I miss the enjoyment of waiting for each new episode with hope and anticipation.

I miss the fantastic fun that would be had on every episode thread on this forum.

I miss the huge array of levels of understanding with the show. Almost every person had their own interpretation every single week.... some of them brilliant, some of them not so brilliant.

I miss trawling through the internet, reading episode threads, lostpedia and any other source of info I could find.

I miss explaining all that I had discovered to the rest of my lost loving friends who didn't go to such lengths to understand the intricacies of the show.

I miss the banter between the friends that did watch and love it.

I miss the banter between the friends that did not watch and hated it.

I miss the pain of dealing with every joe soap under the sun that didn't like/follow lost and thought it was there obligation to point this out on a weekly basis to all the people that did like/follow it.

I miss the hilarity of the same people posting every week saying they've stuck with lost up to this point but were now sick of it and were never going to watch it again.

I miss the beautiful and annoying Freckles.

I miss the devious and manipulative Ben.

I miss the fun and friendly Hurley.

    I miss John Locke!!

    I miss Lost.

I miss Lost too. I can't imagine another show that will capture me as much as Lost did.

If we were realistically discussing season 7 then I think we'd be talking about how Desmond gets back and where do Hurley and Ben go from here (even though we do have a rough idea from the Man in Charge clip).

I'm not missing it at all really. I think that is down to 2 things, the fact I'm glad they didn't drag it in and got their end date and told the story they wanted to tell. The other being I've am travelling so don't have time to think much about it.

But I doubt any show will ever matter to me anywhere close to Lost. There are so many ways to break it down different aspects of the show by scene, episode, by season, by actor, by soundtrack.
I still religiously listen to the music of the show on my 12+ hour bus trips and makes up close to 40% of my iPod (I don't have much music) so the show will always be close to me.

I doubt any show will be able combine all Lost did right for me better or as good. But that's ok, lucky to have 1 show like that to begin with.

"the numbers"actually came up in one of the state lotteries in the states a few weeks back, now that wud of made p.r. stunt if there was to be another series. As much as i bitched and moaned bout lost in the end i certainly do miss some of the chararters and if i'm being honest i still haven't filled the void of Lost, Walking Dead is pretty gud but theres been so little of it

The ending was so awful I hope it never comes back in any guise whatsoever.
