Just surfed Casper. A bit windy in Ireland? I see a stack holding for Dublin Airport at the moment.

Oh Dear! Gusting 46 knots at the same in Cork and Shannon. Best of luck to them.

    A BMI go-around I see.

    Just saw a RYR5TE do a go-around.

Must've been the BD i seen go around this evening. Was walking past the taxi holding area as she came in,looked well dodgy on approach, looked to be getting a right buffeting from the wind. Impressive hearing her engines scream to life again though, she can't have been far from the ground when she decided to go around. I thought it was an EI A320 at the time.

I would guess this shot was taken from directly south of the airport. So the aircraft is lifting off the South-Easterly runway (RWY16) The markings in the foreground are the start/end of what is the runway most people are familiar with (RWY 28/10) which runs westerly/easterly. I would guess the terminal building are just out of shot on the right.

the aircraft had just departed from runway 16 - the one with the runway lights on.
In normal conditions the aircraft would be travelling from left to right (on the runway heading of 160 degrees) whereas here it turned right into the wind immediately after take off - I'd guess its heading 240 degrees. :D
