Worlds Collide - 3 IKF World Titles

    To celebrate 15 years of Kickboxing in Galway, the Black Dragon Kickboxing Club are promoting no less than Three IKF World Title Fights, one IKF European Title Fight, two IKF 5 Nations Title Fights and one IKF All Ireland Title Fight as well as several support bouts.
    Fighters from Ireland, England, Wales, France & the USA will meet in the Black Box Theatre, Galway on Saturday March 12th for an explosion of Kickboxing culminating in the crowning of several National, Continental and World Kickboxing Champions.

    Thanks guys, yeah it should be a wicked show all goin well.
    We had a crackin sparring session down the gym today (Sat) with fighters from Limerick & Dublin droppin in and everyone lookin good - roll on March 12.

    Ok, just lost the James Ward V Patrick Butler fight - turns out Butler who was supposed to be 44kg is actually closer to 48kg.
    James is 5' 1'' and 42kg - anyone have a good 14/15 year old who may want a crack at him?

    Just one week to go for 'Worlds Collide' in Galways Black Box Theatre - couple of problems in the run up to it but all on track now so fingers crossed that all the fighters on either side don't get injured, sick, pregnant, fall into a manhole, get the mumps, swine flu, fall off a haybarn, grannies die etc, etc.....!

    Ok - the Americans left this morning (Wednesday) and will arrive in Shannon 2moro (Thursday).
    The English, Welsh & French will fly in on Friday and the rest of Ireland arrive Saturday for the final weigh ins and then.........its showtime!

    All title fighters weighed in spot or under - no sauna, skipping, running etc to make weight.
    Absolute pleasure to promote a show when all the fighters make such an effort to be as professional as possible and come in on the money with no bitchin and in incredible shape.
    Weigh ins for Cathal Manning V Joseph Corneroli from USA were televised and went out on TG4 at about 7.15pm today (both guys were 81kg) and the cameras will be back tomorrow for the show and highlights will air on Sunday or Monday (or both) at the 7pm sports news on TG4 once again.
