Expanding foam down drain. Dissolver?

Hi all, was doing a job at home this morning and long story short I washed the excess foam from the pipe at the top of the can down the sink. :( Silly mistake but had a lot on my mind this morning.

    It's Evo-Stik Expanding Foam.

I've removed the first two pipe sections under the sink and unfortunately the foam has gone past there into the drain. Any ideas or solutions?

I would ring evo stick. Its not easy to remove and i am not to sure if acid will dissolve the drain as well.

btw.... You wont be the last to do it.

Cheers. Head is all over the place today and I didn't realise until way too late. :o

I've drained all the water from the waste pipe using a syringe and air hose and poured drain cleaner and cups of water down. I rodded it from the outside aswell as it's only a short run to the outlet. It's coming through slowly but surely, hopefully it hadn't cured completely.

Will ring evo-stik in the morning if still in trouble.

Thinners might do it, worth a try.

I would ring a drain cleaner you know the ones when manholes block up just in case that stuff is lethal when it expands

No organic solvents (like aceton or xylol) into the drain, that is illegal. Not only due to the enviroment pollution and the risk to the pipe itself but there are also safety issues, the solvents can explode. Household acids won't help, stronger ones are to dangerous and not freely available.
The only option seems to be a mechanical cleaning or an exchange of the pipe.

    Got it freed.

Stripped the pipe as far as I could and got at it from the other side too. Poured some "Drain Boss" down the pipe and plenty of cold water, worked through and I rodded from both sides with some wire.

All done. It was only the amount of foam that is in the adaptor for the top of the can, any more and it could have been a costly mistake. Lesson learned!
