Just looking at this now. I am currently completing a Masters degree and will be finished in September. I am a Civil Engineer by qualification but I worked as a Operations Engineer for Oil and Gas. Where is the best place to look for Jobs? has anyone any experience using recruitment agencies? I'm not fussy about countries.

CANADA, specifically Alberta! I know they're crying out for engineers. Unfortunately it's not my area so I don't have a clue what agencies to register with.

Yah I had a quick look at that. I sent an e-mail off to an agency but heard nothing back.

Due to Visa issues, etc, I'd say it'd be generally better to be in foreign land to get jobs there.

Australia and Canada are good for engineers but you will need your visa before applying. Doing a masters aswell and thats what they said.

To be honest though Australia and Canada have TOO MANY Irish there now. If you want to stretch to finance try asia. The likes of singapore, tokyo, shanghai etc. are great places to get exposure considering that the majority of the competition will come from this region. It will also pay dividends to have a second language and where better to learn than the place itself. If your looking at London our Europe you will probably need to be in the country at the time though and call into places is your best bet.

    Good Luck in the search
