What was the last thing you bought related to your sport? Be it a new bike, race entry or whatever.

Me? A 2euro roll of zinc oxide tape last week to deal with blisters. A recession busting bargain compared with compeed blister plasters.

Grabbed myself 2 Underarmour Coldgear running tops and an Underarmour Coldgear running jacket from TK Max the other week. Just happened to be walking past and said I'd have a little browse and there they were just waiting for me.

The tops are €55 here http://www.thegaastore.com/under-armour-coldgear-under-armour-jacket-ua-p/und019.htm but I think I paid something like €30, and the jacket is about €80/90 around the web and I grabbed it for less than €40.

I nearly bought a Nike technical top with "FAST" emblazoned across the chest today because it was such a lovely colour. I decided against the false advertising though, and so my last spend was on physio :(

A front and rear light for my bike (€45), but I also used the light on my 10 mile trail run last night, so I'm doubling up on my investment.

Snap! Had to buy a packet the week before the Waterford half marathon after doing myself a small injury at work that week. Luckily nobody seemed to notice me popping two in the changing room before the race!

Bought a Petzl Tikka head torch today. Got fed up running into ditches in the evenings lately. Never used one so I hope I won't find it too annoying.

Brilliant. I read about races like that a few years ago and have wanted to do one ever since.

No reason why you shouldn't do one! Go for it.

One day, I will. Just like one day I'll do a 24 hour race and a 100 miler. All in good time. No rush.

That is the sort of race that really tests your all round endurance and strength, mentally and physically. I'd have a ball attempting it half arsed and not training properly for it (ala Dingle Ultra) but I'll enjoy it all the more when I train properly for it. I could probably go with you this year and finish, actually, I could definitely go with you this year and finish and enjoy myself doing it! I wouldn't be happy with how long it took me however, so I'll give it a miss this year. :pac:
