Returning to fitness after an injury layoff

    Hi,

I am currently about to start training again after an injury forced layoff...prior to the injury i was running well and had some plans to race with a few to getting some good PB's. obviously the injury has hampered these plans but none the less, ill will start to re-train for other future goals.

i was wondering, based on peoples experience, how much time after an injury would it take to get back to full fitness.

ie: if you were injured for 6weeks(incl or excl X-training), it took you XX weeks to get back to full fitness.

in my case i have been injured since 6th jan, approx 4weeks with no X-training and will hope to start training again on monday next(maybe some aqua running, cycling & X-trainer the first few days).
when is it reasonable for me to pencil in some goal races to the plan?

    cheers
