So you signed up for a service that you knew didn't offer the red button, and are now giving out about it not having the red button?

    hmmm

That dose'nt make them terrible ! You surely knew what you were signing up to when you got them to provide a service to you.

I dont understand why the red button function would have been fore front in my mind when getting UPC.
I realize its a function id like but why would i base my purchasing of upc on it?

UPC broadband is far and away the best available in this fair land. Have no doubts on that score. Eircom or Voda or Magnet or Digi-web cannot come near them.

I say Casey Cablevision in Dungarvan has better broadband than UPC.

But sure you'd piss over Dungarvan when you compare it to the big acres UPC have:D:D:D

I signed up to UPC for 1 year. The Tv is full of adverts and the broadband and phone was down a LOT. You did not know till you went online or picked up the phone and found no tone. You never knew how long the service had been down.
You phone up and they put you through a routine of restarting this or that and you MUST go through this charade every time even though you know the problem lies outside your house. I stuck 1 year as per contract then cancelled. The system was installed on 22.02.10 and I cancelled for 21.02.11 which to me is 1 year but they are demanding €99.99. early cancellation fee!!. They have take €99.99 off me before for some slight but I got it back.
They shoud not have a licence.

Almost forgot: when you transfer to UPC you lose your land line so if you want to leave you must have a new line installed. Could cost €80.-

UPC really does very little redeeming qualities, seems a large chunk of people are stuck on it not out of preference but out of it being the only option available.

The most irritating thing about UPC is that little gimp on channel 100. I swear if I ever bump into him...

Really? I find getting tv (which has almost as much as Sky to offer, only less rubbish), broadband (which is the fastest service in Ireland, by far) & phone line (meaning you can tell Eircom do do one with their line rental charge) makes for a very effective package, of which I gladly avail of & save a lot of money with.

I went from Sky to UPC about 9 months ago, delighted with the service & saving money too. Not a hope of going back to Sky now, I'd have to start paying phone line rental again & go back to dsl broadband? Lol no thanks.

He hasn't been on it since it rebranded to U.P.C., last year.( He is used as a voice-over only) You either don't watch the channel or, maybe, are a former subscriber or work for another company. Does this make you a troll?

I second that I have UPC broadband for over 3 years and I never had 1 days trouble with it, my girlfriends brother has the so called uncongested broadband with eircom and he would probably be better off with a wind up modem its so bad.

I got UPC Christmas 09, he was on it then and is still on it now (albeit much less). I don't work for any TV company. I actually think UPC is slighly better value than Sky. Maybe we are thinking about a different person?
