Where can i buy a backboiler

hi all

can anyone tell me where can i buy a back boiler for use with a solid fuel open fire?

how much do they typicall cost and much much would it cost to fit one?

i have a large 4 bed detached house and am crippled with the the cost of home heating oil over the past two years so am looking to offset by getting a back boiler. i normally have a fire going during the winter so it makes sense to use the heat from the fire if i can

If you are going to the trouble of fitting an open fire with backboiler I would fit a stove with backboiler. Much, much more efficient than an open fire. Or an inset boiler stove. We have a free standing multifuel stove with wraparound backboiler heating all of our 2 bed detatched bungalow. It's great to have no oil bills:D We bought it in the UK as we saved 500euro.

Pleez forget the back boiler.:( As much as 75% of your heat disappears up the chimney. The stove gives your a whole lot more heat for your money :cool:
The outlay will initially be more but you reap the returns very quickly.
