A short cycle around the area tonight reveals 3 posters on the ground already, not even 24 hours have passed

Plenty are attached to various traffic signs too, lots of SF ones in particular around Bray & Fassaroe. Is that allowed, blocking clear vision of all traffic signals & signs?

    Rules: http://www.environ.ie/en/Environment/Waste/LitterPollution/ElectionPosters/

I hate all these posters, such a waste of money and resources and visually polluting :(

I wonder how many of their wretched plastic signs end up in landfill? They should be forced to go back to using cardboard ones again. I'm looking forward to meeting some canvassers. :D

Nope not allowed if they obscure view for traffic. They are suppose to write to Eircom etc to gain permission before hanging. Sure that never happens.

The Sunday Times was running a story that a group of artists would be hanging up alternative posters up too.

Yeah, I've seen a few of them around www.upstart.ie I think it is.

I heard a guy on the radio saying it's more a case of someone noticing a candidate doesn't have posters than the posters themselves having any impression. Plus he said after the first week or so, they become part of the scenery and people don't see them anymore.

Depressing stuff. I wouldn't mind if they were completely banned.

Sure they're lying all over the roads now after that wind they take a mind of their own and swoop up off the road just as you're about to drive over Mickey Martin he sticks his leering Mr Burns grin on yer windscreen

We got rid of plastic bags but still have to suffer this mess

Don't like the posters? Invest in one of these:
