    Whats going down?

Am hearing a lot of other colleges have changed the name of Rag week, in an effort to get away from the drinking attachment....daaaaahahahahaha

Whats planned in DCU anyone know ? Or when the hell is it on ?

Last year was fairly good I have to say and that's something, I have made many negative comments about DCU, particularly the social side of things last year/ But in my opinion, last years RAG week was good.

It's the same week as UL/NUIG, which is a shame. I was going to go down to UL's one...

The week of the 28th of February. The Rubberbandits are playing that week, there's meant to be another big artist playing later that week for the rag ball, I just can't remember who Meg said. <_<

Well i thought, comparing it with the other events on campus last year, it was the highlight. The social scene is very poor, mainly because the University is small and as people have said here they'd prefer to pay cheap money into a dj that plays a variety of music, rather then big money to a band that plays the same type of stuff.

The RAG ball last year, was the highlight. Apart from that i don't think there was much of any account. Plenty of people went out to town on the Monday and Thursday nights, which there was a good buzz around campus for.
Of course, that was nothing to do with the college putting on events on these nights.

Someone above said the Rubberbandits are playing, i certainly hope they are on the undercard. Two poor comedians with one catch, but poor song. Their other songs are complete rubbish, that no one will get.

If the coronas could come, or someone like that it would be better.
Then indeed, when they came last year, they were put on at 2.30pm, crazy time, seeing most people didn't enter untill after 6.

Well if it's her she can "pack up" and take herself as far away from DCU as possible.

Haha, you criticise potential bookings of Elisa Doolittle and the Rubberbandits but want the Coronas?

Problem is big acts often want a big pay checks for performing.

DCU could have the best, most exciting events that students love but at the end of the day if they don't raise enough it'll still be seen as a failure.

While im here, what kind of kind of things would encourage you to give money? or what have you seen elsewhere that was a good idea? (some societies still have to organise events)
