Heineken Cup quarter final tickets: another fiasco?

Just wondering if any other Leinster season ticket holders have been experiencing the frustrations I have.

I got an email from them today saying it was "My last chance to keep your seat for the quarter final". If I wanted to get the same seat in Lansdowne Rd as my season ticket entitled me to enjoy for the previous games Leinster have played there this year, I had to "log into my account" by clicking on the attendant link, and "pay the invoice we have posted there" before 5pm today.

Needless to say, this was the first email I have received from them regarding HC q final tickets. As I didn't see it until about 4:45 and as there is the usual faffing around with "logging on" to sites I don't regularly access ( "click here if you have forgotten your password and we'll mail it to you") and as there was nothing resembling an invoice once I had done so, and as the Leinster Branch telephone number was giving an unobtainable tone, I am now left with the suspicion that my chance of guaranteeing a seat is gone and I will have to join the queue along with all the other non committed ones.

Their mail also tried to reassure me that I can pre book such tickets "using the password we sent you last Friday" Er, what password you sent me last Friday? Nothing in my inbox about that.

Anybody else had this strange correspondence?

there is still a restricted sale of tickets from tomorrow until 5pm on sunday for season ticket holders where you can get up to 8 tickets. the tickets dont go on general sale to the public til monday.

i got my first email about this on friday which came with a password. id email the ticket office and then follow up with a call tomorrow to see where that email went.

i think you'll be ok, i cant see the tickets selling out by sunday.

i have had problems with the ticket office in the past for the aviva games and ended up getting bad seats in the north stand. thats why i'll be buying my ticket tomorrow

The email last Friday didn't come from the normal leinster address it came from "Sports Tickets" (sportstickets@ticketmaster.ie). I know some of my mates missed it coming in because of this or it went straight into their junk mail.

I was emailed last Friday, mentioned it on the Leinster gossip thread. I recommend you befriend them on twitter or Facebook because they post notices there too.

You've lost 'your' seat but you'll get tickets no problem tomorrow I reckon.

My ticket experience was only positive for this match! I probably would have set prices €5 less, but can't complain too much.

Got my tickets no problem, after receiving my password etc no problem either.

Where Leinster have really done a great job is the wide variety of ticket prices, so there really is something for everyone, and you know what you're getting before you buy.

    Ticket prices are as follows:

€70 - West and East premiums
    €60 - South premiums
€50 - all lower West and East, best seats in upper West and East
€40 - upper West and East between the 21 and pitch edge, and also higher seats in the middle sections.
€35 - North, lower South, upper South front middle, the gods in the middle of upper West and East
€30 - the remainder of upper South

what time Monday are general tickets going on sale? How quickly are they likely to sell? Love to go to this as think it could be a cracking game!

que a 6-5 scrappy game like the Northampton Leinster one :P

No problems for me. Have say ticketting has really improved in the last 2 years or so. Haven't had any problems since the semi final tickets went on sale after the day after harlequins quarter final when we were all in London.

if it doesnt sell out it will be very very close to it.

there were full houses for the clermont and munster games.

    to paraphrase someone

    the **** just got real

They've bee sensible with pricing, so will sell out I think, 20k gone by lunch today augurs well

20k sold already, for a match in over 2 months time, before the tickets are even released to the general public is very impressive. Really shows how Leinsters support base is expanding every year, its only about 5 years since they were in Donnybrook isnt it?

it is only about 5 years since we were in donnybrook, but the game against leicester 5 or so years ago was if not a sell out, very close to it.

there were some big attendances when games were played in lansdowne against munster and ulster too.

Think the Leicester match and certainly the Ulster game were priced at "rent-a-crowd" rates....the pricing for this game is much less so.

    2005 Prices:
    €40 - Stand, €25 - Touch/Goal line, €20 - East Terrace, €15 - North/South Terrace, €5 - Schoolboy/girl (terrace)

    linked from
    http://www.ercrugby.com/eng/5770.php

that is a good bit cheaper!
