    Hi all

Please dont judge us on any thing i say all i want is advice and help thanks.

Myself and my partner have found out i am pregnant we told our parents which didnt go down well with them. None of us are working at the moment and we are both on the dole. We want to move in together with each other but not sure how to go about it.

We dont want to go down the route of me saying i am a lone parent and getting extra money and rent allowance and having my partner living with me and having to hide all the time in case we are cought.

So can we both get the dole and a house and rent allowance on a house living together? and the social welfare know about this.

I was told i have to leave home and my partner's parents wont let me live with them so now he is leaving them to and hopefully us both living together.

If anybody has any idea what we can both do without having to try and sneak around let us no PLEASE.

Again please dont give out or tell us to get jobs as we have tried so hard to get work.

    Many thanks
    Becky

You're both already claiming jobseekers, and it should be easy enough to prove you have a housing need so you should get rent supplement if you apply.

If you're both unemployed you should be entitled to RA. If one partner is working you are not. However one of the conditions of RA is that you have to have been living in private rented accommodation for six months and/or have had your housing needs assessed by the council.

Contact citizen's information or the CWO in the area you want to live in.

If you are both on JS allowance then your payment will be reassessed when you move in together. You wont get the same amount as you do separately now.
