If you actually look into it, they have a great reputation and shouldn't be confused with the pertol variants, the engine's a gem, just make sure the belts have been changed on time nad that the water pump was changed with the belts too, there were reports of them failing on UK cars causing the timing belt to tear.
Bits that go wrong are the bushings on the joints (front and rear), you'll be able to tell as soon as you go over a speed bump - listen for a squeek, the tell tale sign.
